We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If something isn't right, we'll make it right. Our returns policy is designed to be simple and fair, in line with your rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Returns Eligibility

Electronics components (products)

You may return most items within 30 days of receiving them, provided:

  • The item is unused and in its original condition
  • The original packaging is intact (where applicable)
  • You have proof of purchase (order reference or email confirmation)

What cannot be returned

  • Custom 3D prints — bespoke items made to your specification cannot be returned unless they are defective
  • Downloadable software or digital files — once accessed, these are non-refundable
  • Items that have been soldered, modified, or clearly used
  • Consumables (e.g. filament offcuts, adhesive, flux) once opened
  • Consultation sessions — see our booking policy for cancellation terms

How to Return an Item

Contact Us

Email returns@rombotics.com with your order number and reason for return. We'll reply within 2 business days.

Pack & Post

Securely package the item and send to the address we provide. For faulty items, we cover return postage. For change-of-mind returns, postage is at your cost.

Refund Issued

Once received and inspected, we'll process your refund within 5–10 business days to your original payment method.

Please do not send returns without contacting us first — we cannot guarantee processing for unrequested returns.

Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout:

  • Card payments (Stripe): typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank
  • PayPal payments: returned to your PayPal balance or linked card within 3–5 business days

We will refund the full item price plus original standard delivery charge (where applicable) for faulty or incorrectly shipped items. For change-of-mind returns, original delivery charges are non-refundable.

If you received a discount or used a promotion code, the refund will reflect the amount actually paid.

Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you receive an item that is:

  • Defective or not working as described
  • Damaged in transit
  • Different from what you ordered

We will arrange a free return and offer your choice of:

  • A full refund (including delivery costs)
  • A replacement item dispatched at no extra charge

Please report faulty or incorrect items within 90 days of receipt. For items that develop faults within 6 months, a statutory repair/replacement/refund right applies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

3D Printing Service — Cancellations

Custom 3D prints are bespoke items made to your specification. The following cancellation terms apply:

  • Before printing begins: full refund
  • After printing has started: 50% refund (material and setup costs already incurred)
  • After printing is complete: no refund, unless the print is defective or does not match your confirmed specification

If your print is defective — warped, incomplete, or significantly different from the approved specification — we will reprint at no cost or issue a full refund at your choice.

Consultation & Session Cancellations

Bookings for 1-to-1 sessions (via Calendly) are subject to the following cancellation policy:

  • More than 24 hours notice: full refund
  • Less than 24 hours notice: 50% refund
  • No-show (no contact before session): no refund

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule sessions due to unforeseen circumstances. In that case, we will offer a full refund or a rescheduled session at no extra cost.

Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this returns policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including:

  • Consumer Rights Act 2015: goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described
  • Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013: 14-day cooling-off period for distance sales (online orders)

If you purchased online, you have a minimum 14-day right to cancel from the day after you receive your goods, for any reason. Our 30-day policy is an extension of this legal minimum.
